Literacy and History
Bringing Literacy to life. Encourage children (in particular boys) to read with a medieval story reading session. This is followed by a fascinating demonstration of medieval life and a discussion about the the role of literature in shaping our knowledge of the past. Various favourite books are introduced with diverse subject matters along with original examples of my work as an illustrator.
'...the stories and medieval anecdotes had the boys, in particular, enthralled. It was fantastic to see so many boys reluctant to leave the library at the end of the
session when it's usually such a battle to get them there in the first
place.' Argoed High School, Flintshire
'I liked the arrows and the story with all the different voices. It was cool.' Mathew, Argoed High School.
'I thought he was amazing.' Pippa, Argoed High School.
